| Paul used an image map for the top menu, created by a clever program he found on the Web in 1999. Unfortunately, the size of Paul's site exceeded the capability of the utility and made Paul's maintenance tedious. | The new site is based on a template, so changes are easy. The top menu is now in code, making it simplicity itself to add a new item. |
Paul's site, now a memorial to him, was not redesigned graphically. My challenge was to re-create Paul's very clean design within the context of contemporary Web standards. My goal was to make it easier for me to maintain as time goes on while assuring that visitors familiar with the original site would find Paul's material as they remembered it. |
