The (Baltimore) Sun Goes Techless

August 21, 2008

I am remiss for not having mentioned this sooner. Staff cuts at "The Setting Sun" have finally managed to nail long-running technology columnist and nice guy Michael Himowitz. Reader protests protected his column twice before. Mike claims we couldn't have done it again; I think this Sunday's launch of a redesign for a much smaller paper is the real culprit.

I didn't always agree with Mike and I have a trail of emails to prove it. Our exchanges were always friendly and professional, but I have to say that Mike was far more unflappable than I, always the gentleman, even when I was telling him that he was dead wrong. Funny, though, he never admitted that...

Happily, Mike won't vanish. The Internet makes life after death not only possible but cheap. He has reincarnated himself as The Tech Geezer. Check it out.

Thanks, Mike, and good luck!
