Just a month ago I commented that smart phones were getting too big. At least somebody thinks my opinion might be more widely shared; Samsung announced the Galaxy S III "Mini." Compared to the iPhone 5, it is about the same height, 7mm wider, 2mm thicker, and almost exactly the same weight. This makes it significantly smaller than the mini-tablet-sized Galaxy S III.

Contributing to my S III as tablet theory, Samsung offers a flip cover in various colors for the S III. I haven't seen this in small devices since the Palm PDA days. $40. The iPad Smart Case is $49.
